Spore designed a range of sustainable pet waste disposal products for a start-up company. The brief began as 'a reusable alternative to one use only plastic bags.' Our involvement started early in the conception stage by redirecting our client's focus to wholly sustainable disposable concepts, manufactured from 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper. The recycled paper products - despite a limited life span - offered substantial environmental advantages over alternatives in recycled plastic and bio-plastic.

Some worthy functional benefits include:
- a rigid structural edge that cleans the waste from grass and soft surfaces
- a tear-off tab to provide an opposing force to scoop against
- no tactile contact with waste
- a semi-sealed construction for safe transport from pickup to rubbish bin.

The outcomes were a flat pack one to two time use disposable box die-cut from flat recycled paper and a scooper reusable for one-week moulded from paper pulp with a water tight film.
